I think it was back in January when I bought this gadget after watching several online videos of it's use. Yesterday evening I had my first chance to put it to use just to familiarize myself with it a little bit. Talk about a difference vs my old Chrony Master Beta! This new little thing is stupid simple! I shot a string of 10 shots of SK Standard+ for my learning session. It's just hard to imagine how easy this is and it'll get a lot more use now.

Also, I'm gonna gift my Chrony Master Beta to anybody that wants it. It's as new in its box with everything as it came from the factory. It's the model with the cord that links the display unit to the receiver about 10 feet beyond it.

Garmin just flat makes good stuff. When the Xero came out, I made plans to get one.

I used fit bit watches for years, charging them every 3 days. My Garmin Instinct is 4 years old, rarely taken off, worn no matter what I'm doing, and a charge lasts nearly 2 weeks.

As my post states I've only used my Xero once and I may be missing something but I don't see a need to pair it to my phone. At least not right away.
If you pair it with your phone, you can save shot strings and name them to associate with a particular rifle and load. Even when you delete them off your Xero, they are still on your phone.

My only complaint with having it linked to my phone is I can't see them in real time. I have to close the session. Another benefit is if you shoot with friends, you could send their sessions to them and they'd have the whole session, not just the overall stats
