Trademark office rejects 'Utah Yetis' team name

Utah Hockey Club said it still expects to announce a permanent name and identity before the 2025-26 NHL season despite having "Utah Yetis" refused by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Grizzlies won't fly, that's already being used by another pro team that would fight it.

There are multiple college Golden Eagles (include our own TTU) so that may be workable; none of them can claim confusing their school with an NBA team when there's already numerous other schools using the same name.
