They're cheaper, no doubt. But they dont make you get closer. That's just mentality. A lot of people use TSS in sub-gauges. My first three turkeys this year were killed at 20, 15, and 12 yards. One with a .410. Not everyone uses them as a crutch. As a handloader, I hope people dont lump everyone who shoots TSS into the same category as the chithead who made that FB post.

Yep, I hear more people brag about longshots, that shoot longbeards than anything, so it really doesn't have anything to do with htl loads.

that's true I didn't think of that. I bet winchester's advertising 60 yard shots doesn't help at all.

I shoot longbeards and I wont chance anything past 40 but really want it inside 40. There will always be the idiots pulling crap like this but it all comes down to no respect for the animal. I agree that the bird was probably crippled and shot again when dude walked up on probably a still very live bird. Makes me sick.

Exactly.
There's a reason why some real hunters like Setterman, SCN or AndyS, Roost1 (and many many others)
will walk out with 9 or 10 turkeys every time their guns fire 10 rounds in the turkey woods.
It starts with only taking high-probability shots, giving a pass to the low-probability ones.
