Going to Thorny Cypress WMA on Saturday/Sunday hunt (Nov. 30-Dec.1) with some friends who got drawn. We've hunted there a lot on Pools 1 and 2. But this time we're going to be on Pool 6 (pictured).

It's a big pool and we've never been on it before. Can anyone provide any guidance? How much water is there now? Are there particular spots on the pool that ducks seem to prefer? Any info greatly appreciated!

Five has some water and a few ducks can be seen from the highway. You can't tell much about 6 from the gravel road but as stated they have been pumping since Oct.
Next time I drive by I will park and take a closer look and let you know what I see.
I don't think any of the pools are full.

I've hunted pool 5 a couple of different times and it seemed to me that the hunters in pool 6 were set up along the willows on the north side of the pool maybe half way down the levy. They got far more shooting than we did but that doesn't necessarily mean they killed more birds than us as you may well know.

I had 8 a couple years ago, and 6 did a lot more shooting than we did by far. We had a 3 day hunt, got 1/0/0. Day 3 we couldn't hunt, got froze out.
