You're correct about that! If i recall correctly, he has more than anyone in the state.
I have been duck hunting 3 times so far and literally think of him all day on those days. He is who got me into this mess. If he was here I'd like to punch him in the mouth then give him a big hug for it

TARP fish? is that like what we call a "freezer fish" here? you know, you're about to say screw it and leave, but then you catch a good fish and stay three more hours freezing your hands/feet off thinking the fish are about to start biting?
Ol ruger love the Tarp program.
How many did he have?
I cant remember but it was a bunch. I think he turned in every fish that made the requirement, not just one entry in every new species
Seems like in the spring he'd catch one or two a week!
I feel like his last one was a rock bass from tims ford….but i may be wrong
I looked it up. Ruger had 22 TARP entries:
13 Bluegill
1 Flathead Catfish
2 Large Mouth Bass
1 Redear
1 Rock Bass
2 White Crappie
2 Yellow Bass

I'm pretty sure he told me at one time he had the most TARP fish in all of TN.
He got one TARP bluegill by accident in 2022. We took his new boat for the break in period at 1000-acre lake and was doing the stuff like it said. After creeping as close as we could to a paddle boarder in a 2-pc swimsuit he wanted to fish for a few mins. The first bluegill he pulled up was a TARP. He was ecstatic.
Oh yeah a fun fact on the 2 pc swimsuit. She didn't look near as good up close as she did far away

I miss him for sure. Never saw such a dedicated fisherman. I like it……but not as much as him.
