anyone tried the #7 heavy shot ive been doing alot of reading on oldgobbler about the #7 just wandering if anyone here has had any runins with it, i never shoot past 40yards so wandering if the added shot from 7 in my patteren would be worth trying over the #6 heavy

Mag Blend is awesome!
and FYI Bass Pro has them in the 3" here in Nashville
The pattern is amazing
I use a .660 Rhino choke/870 SM with 23" barrel
great combo IMO

Are you registered there too? I go by Bad Grizzly over there.

My wife took her first turkey at 40 yards with 3-2-7 Hevi-13 last spring..... her gun is an 11-87 with 26" barrel and Rhino .660 choke.

Here is a 10" circle pattern from it:

This one is from my 11-87sm with 26" barrel and Indian Creek BDS .665 & Hevi-13 Mag Blends:

Both barrels were polished and each had a bore snake pulled through between shots.

awesome patterns grizz,no im not registered there i just read it alot, im shooting a mossberg with 660[i think]rhino, the 6 do ok but i think the 7 might throw a better pattern out to 40, how hard is it to polish a barrel?

It takes a little time.... I did 3 in one afternoon (10am-5pm) that time was spent on prep and actually polishing.

It's not to bad with a drill and a dimmer switch to slow it down if it's too fast at wide open rpm.

Here is the link for you:

If you get on oldgobbler to read..... check out the post in the turkey guns section about polishing a barrel.

did you notice a big difference after polishing?

I posted the link in my previous reply to you....

I didn't do a before and after pattern. Everyone raves about polishing their barrels over on oldgobbler. So I just went ahead and did it. As far as the looks down the inside of before and after..... it was night and day..... after was like a mirror finish inside!!!!

I introduced 4 turkeys to the h13 7s last spring and none of them liked it :D

If there is a better "over the counter" shell out there I havent found it yet.

Best I can tell, the H13 #7's have penetration comparable to #5 lead pellets, but MAN, do those #7's produce a dense pattern! They make a lot of sense to me, particularly if you're focusing on head shots.

This should answer your question.

I may have over counted some of these what I call snowman pellets, but I think you will get the picture. This was with a MAD Super Max .675.

Here's the Indian Creek .669 at 40yds taped.

Now that ought to clear the air on the Hevi-13 7's.

Here's the back of the cardboard of the overall pattern from that first picture above. Any gobbler that could escape that pattern at even 50yds must be wearing a metal helmet.
