Thoughts on this rub

What do think about this rub? It looks to me like the buck rubbed both these trees at the same time. The bark is only shaved on the outside of both trees. If that's true, what's your best guess on his size? I know it is all just speculation. The distance between the trees at the highest point is 18 inches.

The last pic is another rub not far away.

It is good sign but not enough for sizing a buck. I agree with those who say big rubs are made by big bucks. This is likely a mature buck. Based on the rubs in both directions, this is likely near his core area.
 
Two different rubs. The point of the rub is to transfer scent from the forehead gland. Antlers tear up the tree as the buck is aggressively rubbing his forehead.

In my experience it's impossible to judge rack width from a rub. At most you can vaguely guess rack height and to even less degree rack shape and if there might be some odd sticker points. But it's supremely vague, only ballpark guessing.
