Only been a few times this season due to weather and poor reports. If you only had a few vacation days left to take off sparingly. Would you take them this week for the freeze, or wait for Fridays weather into the weekend? Or take your few days early next week when we might get a tiny warm up and little thaw. Hunting mainly from the TN river, west to the Mississippi. Just trying to put the odds in my favor to see a couple new ducks to the area on my last few days of the season.

Decent hunts are so random anymore that I have stopped trying to plan for it. I go when I can and just have low expectations each time I go. These last 2 years I've really gone a lot less because it's not been worth the hassles. When I retire and can go at the drop of a hat, maybe that will work out better.

We're still figuring out our new spot so there's still plenty to learn and think about for next year. Maybe I'll catch a good day here or there but I'm about done strategizing and just going to get it in when I can fit it in-

Some ducks moved in and or passed over last 2 days. Mostly resting today after migration. The weather looks great from here on out. Friday should be a big numbers day. Fields will improve as the backwater starts tucking in later this week. I would go Friday-
