Here is the deal....I have a lake formed from a old strip mine pit, water is gin clear. Goes from 4 to 6 foot deep to about 20 foot out from the bank then drops straight down to 25 foot with scattered weed's, move out another 20 or so yards and it drops to 40+ foot again straight down no weeds. Deepest I have found so far is 59 foot. The weeds have near taken over the 4 to 6 foot deep sections. How would you go about fishing this lake ? Lake is near a mile long and 1/8 mile wide in 95% of the water body.

My first thought would be a frog on top of the grass.
Spinnerbait burned just above the grass in the deeper areas.
Jig with a BIG weight, cast it high and let it punch down through the grass to get to the bottom.

I get to fish several pits almost exactly like that. Last year we killed the bass on a tek-l-frog. A bubble gum fluke is great also, just the fluke and a hook. A ribbit can be great to.
