Tick PSA

The petroleum smell is there for a reason. When that odor gets weak it's time to retreat. I'm already on my 4th washing of 4 pairs of socks since I treated beginning of March. Gonna need to retreat soon.

No ticks yet with the permethrin down here, but the mosquitoes are getting horrible now

I use the Sawyers bottle that says it's good for 5 outfits and use it all on one outfit, socks, hat, and my turkey vest.

Don't take it lightly, ticks are the most dangerous things in the woods and I'm more afraid of them than venomous snakes, wasp nests, wild hogs, and meth heads. Besides Alpha Gal, they transmit other diseases that have a wide variance of effect on people, many of those effects can be life altering. Keep those disgusting things off you.

Didn't get alpha gal but did have Lyme disease ended up having it for years undetected. Was on so many antibiotics and for months to. Not to mention it did a number on my joints. Weird thing is it comes and go's. Doctor said since I had it so long. That the effects would last a life time. But I can say after treatment I do feel way better than before. Doc said lots of cases he see's go's undetected for many years as doctors don't think to check for it. And symptoms mimic lots of other sickness's and diseases.
A friend went 10 years without being diagnosed. The side effects eventually killed her (heart damage).

Was out Saturday and only planned on digging out a road tile. Wasn't anywhere near the brush so didn't wear sprayed-down clothes. And what do you know, found a tick crawling on my sleeve. I won't make that mistake again.
