I'm looking for another compact rifle and have it narrowed down to these two...and possibly the Bergara Stoke.
Does anyone have experience with ether of these? Recommendations?
I haven't handled either of them yet, but plan to this week. I'm kinda leaning towards the Tikka for the light weight.

Suggestions appreciated.

Thanks

couple notes.

Tikka will have a lot more options for aftermarket stuff if you ever decide to change it or add on to it.

Tikka Action will feel better, but that weatherby/howa action is VERY nice

IMO the TIkka stock is worse

Both guns are known for accuracy and quality, again IMO I think Tikka is a tad overpriced for what you get

Id prob go Tikka if the price was right just due to the ease of aftermarket parts if later I wanted to make it into something else.

Overall Id go with the Bergara over all 3. I just really like their rifles and actions and if im not mistaken the stoke comes threaded which is also nice (I could be wrong but believe it was)

I received the Tika T3 lite a few years ago as a Christmas gift from my wife (picked out by my best friend). This is nicest gun I have ever owned. It is lightweight, easy to shoulder, and very accurate. Mine is a left handed 7MM Remington Magnum. I used it on TN deer and now it's my Western gun.

I have no experience with weatherby… I do have experience with Tikka and Bergara. Tikka has become my favorite. Their actions are just so crazy smooth. I can barely tell a difference between cycling the bolt with ammo or without. My next gun will be a Sako S20 which is pretty much a Tikka.

I've actually looked at the S20. Although most would consider it a good thing, I don't care for the modularity.

And just an FYI...Sako is to Tikka, as savage 110 is to an Axis. It's Sako's budget rifle!!

Everything I have read about the S20 has been positive. All of them appear to be crazy accurate.
Yeah, Sako's are amazing. I'm sure the S20 is top tier. I just don't care for either stock.
Check eurooptic, they have them on sale. I think all they have left is the 6.5prc. Was a wider range of cartridge and stocks a few months ago. Guess they've sold them.

I haven't fired a stoke but have handled it quite a bit. It's a pretty neat little rifle and was designed for small frame indiciduals originally. That being said, a ton of guys are buying it because it's so light and compact and perfect for shooting suppressed or in a box blind or something. It comes with spacers so the stock can be made to be full size. The other advantage of the stole is that it takes all Remington 700 accessories so trigger swaps, stock changes, optics bases etc are plentiful for it.

Here I sit on a public field edge with my new favorite hunting rifle. Tikka T3x stainless. Yes, I know that I have redundant bipods, but "reasons." You know my preference. Let me know if you want me to bring it up tomorrow to handle

Thanks, but no need to bring it up. I'll be hitting the gun shop sometime this week.
I'm really interested in the compact. Don't think a full size will have the same feel to it....but thanks anyway.

funny enough I looked SUPER SUPER hard at the S20 and ended up going with a Benelli Lupo instead MAINLY because the weight of the S20. Loved everything else about it though.

agreed ive handled a few and really like them for that exact reason. Im in the minority though in that I dont really care for Tikka rifles. Other then the action the rest of it just is as basic and cheaply made as they can do. The action is amazing though and they generally are VERY accurate out of the box.

TO ME for the money most any Bergara is hard to beat or pass up for overall quality.

My daughter has her eyes on the Begara Stoke due to the compactness. She has a Bergara Timber 6.5 CM that she's looking to sell.

I'll also throw in the Bergara Ridge Carbon in 308. It's a little over 6lbs and 20" barrel due to it being compact. It's my new favorite rifle. I've heard a lot of good things from the Tikka Lite as well.

I hunt in a ground blind overlooking fields so weight isn't an issue for me personally. I understand why others wouldn't like heavy guns tho.
