Extra batteries for headlamp

Don't overdress on your walk in, better to be a little cold and put layers on at the tree. Plus sweat and cold is bad.

I use a red lens if I turn headlamp on in the dark, not because of deer but it doesn't mess with night vision.

You're right about that.
I'll walk to my stand in a light fleece and dress when I get to my stand.
Don't wear a hat either walking to the stand.

I try to remember to carry tp with me so I don't have to cut my underwear off, cut my shirt tail off or use a sock! Lol

Another good tip is to carry a camp stool that folds up to keep in the back of your truck. This will save you from sitting in poison ivy. Ask me how I know!

I use a trigger stick even with a climber. I put the end inside my rubber boot so it doesn't clank or fall through. A supported rifle is much better for any shot than an unsupported one. I've tested mine at the range up to 300 yds.

Here is a big one! If you like to drink beer in your box stand while hunting, pay CLOSE attention to which can you are sipping from and which one you took a leak in!
