Heading down there next weekend and have never fished it before. We will be staying at Skull Island campground. Where would be a good place to start? I will be primarily fishing from a bass boat but will also use my kayak.

Thanks. I haven't figured out how to fish a deep crank bait from my kayak without it pulling me around. The rest I can do.

This is advice if you are in a bass boat. (Don't try it in a Kayak). If you are at Skull island you are only a short way from the Sequoyah Nuclear Power Plant. There are some big ledges and some deep water in that area. Just look for the boats stacked up and you will find them. From under the power lines that run across the river you will see some large balls on the power lines. If my memory is correct the 4th ball (may be third) is directly over a big mid river hump. It is usually loaded with fish. The last time I fished it was around 5 years ago. I was using jig and craw, and some shakey heads and caught a bunch of fish.

Head down river. Look to the left for a big rock wall. Fish it.
