Beck struggles against decent defenses. TN is probably the best defense they will face all year. How can they be 9.5 favorites when they may not score 9 points. I envision Beck throwing at least 1 vols TD. Going to run Waltz's pick 6 play
Well that's ratings not stats. So there's that
So in the link provided, UT's SOS is slightly better than the tides for the remaining games??Going by rankings at the time the game was played can be very misleading. Most of the teams UT has played up to now are in the bottom of their conferences. All SEC games can be tough; especially on the road so the schedule is not entirely weak but I'd say it is somewhat weak. UT has played six SEC teams; 5 of those are in the bottom six of the conference.
That shows preseason and remaining. Here is one that shows strength of schedule for up-to-now as well one for remaining.
College Football Strength of Schedule Rankings
Strength of Schedule Played and Strength of Schedule Remaining for all 133 NCAA Division 1 Football teams.powerrankingsguru.com
Tennessee is ranked 60 in games remaining (seems a little low with UGA and Vandy remaining) and ranked 46 in games played to date. Lower SEC teams mean something compared to so many other conferences.
You don't even have to go down to Alabama's remaining to see that there is something a little off. Going one school up, Tulsa. Tulsa has Cincinnati (5-4; 3-3 in Big 12) and Arizona (3-6; 1-5 in Big 12) remaining. I don't see that being tougher than UGA, UTEP, and Vanderbilt. Maybe in this case it more a matter of 3 games remaining vs 2 games remaining. I haven't looked through other examples. So in the link provided, UT's SOS is slightly better than the tides for the remaining games??
UT has UGA, UTEPand vandy
AL has mercer, oklahoma and auburn
This ranking doesn't think much of GA I guess. So if that's the case then that must not have been a "good" win for AL

I'm guessing UT wins it 24-17 at this point
