TN velvet hunt Aug 25-27

Was a definite success. Nothing for me but I was able to get my son on one and he is on cloud 9. He had winded us and was nervous but he 10 ringed him (exit in pic is back slightly but still rear lungs) and the deer ran 5 yards, stood and then fell over dead. He did awesome and I couldn't be more proud. Just a little 8 but a memory that will last a lifetime.
Awesome! Congratulations to you both!

Man that's awesome! I'm back out and hunting a different property this morning in Anderson county. Hunted Grainger yesterday.

You are 100% correct there! He had to stand to see out of the blind for at least 5 minutes before he could get a shot and you could hear his little legs shaking. That alone makes it all worth it.

View attachment 192419Killed this nice 8 Fri. Evening. I passed four other wider bucks, just not as good on tine length. Killed him at 7 pm. Fri evening. Oddly, ever buck l seen was coming from beans headed into timber. This one was slap full of beans. Madison county
Congrats tickweed on a nice velvet buck!

Congratulations to tickweed, very nice. Congratulations to hunter0925's son too, great to see kids getting deer especially a nice velvet buck.

I have been cooking a shoulder and doing some work around the house today, and the humidity here is freaking miserable. The gnats, deer flies, and mosquitoes in the yard are also really bad today. I really need to take a can of wasp spray with me and check a stand and the one camera I have out, but just not feeling it.
