To shoot or not to shoot...

In the first pic, I would lean towards 3 1/2. But that second posted pic makes it clear he is mature (4 1/2).

I don't know what I'd do. I've never seen one that big while hunting in 17 years now... sad but true :D

But I'm pretty sure I'd shoot it!

4.5; 130"

whether to hang your only buck tag on him depends on the local area you're hunting. He may be about as good as you could hope for this year, or you could have 2 or 3 more that would score significantly higher using that property.

Personally, with a bow, I'd shoot him in a heartbeat, then focus my energy back in TN with a rifle during the rut.

You guys crack me up. This buck would be a trophy of a lifetime where I hunt and you are debating if it is good enough. Forget the score, if you feel that it is the right animal to harvest then fire it up!!! Don't worry what others say.

Yeah, I'm not depending on the answers of these fellas to tell me to shoot or not. That was personal dialogue. I primarily hunt a 600 acre farm about 1.5 hours from home, but shooter bucks are non-existent so far this year. I'll for sure stick him if I get a chance. I still have the lifetime TN license if I limit out early.

I went after him this evening. I checked the trail cam pics in the stand, and he hasn't been back yet. I think I just got the picture last week because the beans nearby have turned. They should cut the corn which surrounds this small patch of woods in the next week. I'm not going back in til they do. It's just too loud getting in and out walking in the rows of corn. It'll be on next weekend!
