Bought an older Browning Magnum compound bow. When I got it the guy had wrapped it in old cloth style cammo tape that was all tattered and hanging off. It looked like...well you know. I peeled the tape off and was left with a bow covered in sticky crud. Got some goo gone and she looks realy nice and really shiney. I was contemplating having it camo dipped or doing it myself, but not sure if I want to do that this year so I thought that I might get some cammo tape and redo the job myself. Any input or anyone have any experience with this?

I have a buddy that is getting into the dipping business. Stuff looks pretty cool. I may get him to do my trail cam.

Does the bow not look good by itself? Or do you just want to "make it you own"?

That's what I'm trying to figure out. I shot it before I bought it, quite a bit. My brother used it some last season. It was looking really ragged when I got it. I have contemplated starting to dip things, or rather water based transfer printing, myself. I've watched markets come and go and missed opportunities too many times to let something pass me by again.

The bow looks surprisingly good. I wouldn't have thought so and am very tempted to leave it alone...but...as you said I'm really liking the idea of "making it my own".

You should do something different like paint the handle/risers(?) black and the limbs dipped camo. Or do the whole thing in digital camo. I like the look of the black bows that are out there.

This is giving me ideas to mess around with on my old bow.

The limbs are already black with the gold -=Browning=- on both the upper and lower. The riser is a metal flake green. It looks really sweet all (or at least mostly) cleaned up, especially with the new NAP Quiktune Capture 360 rest and the TruGlo LED Brite*Site hanging off of it.

Ok couldn't resist:
