Tomato and onion macaroni

My Granny used to make this. She'd saute an onion, add it to the cooked elbow macaroni and stir in tomato paste (maybe tomato juice). Salt and pepper. Really simple. Anybody out there do something similar for a side?

My Mom and Grandma make "tomatoes and macaroni". Same ingredients you mentioned, along with stewed tomatoes. Pretty much a hearty soup. Delicious.

I do remember this...but it had chunks of tomatoe in it and juice more than paste.

Not to side track...but another recipe that I remember eating but have never cooked is stewed tomatoes and okra.

I need to give both of these a try....we're still picking okra.

Mom just gave me a box of tomatoes she canned. I've had macaroni and tomatoes on my mind all day! I'll just take this as a sign and make some!

Yes we make it, so simple and so good. Also, my elderly neighbor will make it and call me over to get a bowl full. She also makes chicken n dumplin's and has me come get some. Every time I do something for her she thinks she has got to feed us.

We had stewed tomatoes and macaroni. When we got lucky some ground beef and chili powder was added.
