And got all my stands ready for season. Put up a new stand Thursday and cut shooting lanes for it and changed straps on all my other stands. Only thing I have left to do is swap out a ladder stand for a hang on. Got the sticks set for it today but didn't feel like putting the hang on together out of the box so it'll have to wait til tomorrow.

The weather has been excellent the past few days here.

It finally blowed in here this evening 😁

Started checking on and cleaning up stand sites last week. Hated being at work today. It would've been a great day to be out finishing up my primary stand sites and getting in to check on a few other locations. Monday doesn't look to bad.

Was a beautiful day and spent it on the lake with my wife. Moving leases this year and meeting my brother tomorrow at previous place to move camper and take down a stand and move them to his house. Ordered 2 stands that will deliver this week and he did too so altogether we'll have 10-12 to put up but no idea when as the wife and I have a vacation coming up.

Rode to work the last couple days. Needed gloves this morning, almost needed a vest. Stayed off the super slab, took backroads instead.
Need to pick up a few ladder stands a friend no longer uses. Not so much for hunting, but for getting better beads on illegal jug lines in my pond. 🤬
Might come in handy for popping a few nutria and muskrats too.

Jealous here!!!Perfect weather for it. I'm normally done with it by this time of year, but life has been busy around here!

I'm hoping by Labor Day we will have ours done.

Unfortunately most of my summer gets spent on killing invasives than deer season prep. Been since Tuesday killing tree of heaven sprouts. Feels like I'm playing an annual game of whack-a-mole. After 3yrs of it I'm finally done with the bigger stuff. Nothing bigger than my pinky finger left but there's thousands of them. It's like ginseng hunting without the payday, and as long as it's present I can't do any TSI or timber harvesting.

So today I'm working only on deer stuff. Gona seed a couple plots, trail maintenance, mock scrape stuff, and maybe a little camera work. Gotta have fun at least one day. Already lost a day to a tree falling across the cabin driveway, but it was a little playtime on the tractor so that's OK.

First pic is driveway. Second is tree of heaven sprouts. Nothing heavenly about them except the name.
