If the committee wanted to pick the four best teams:
UGA
Alabama
Michigan
Texas

If they wanted to pick the most deserving:
Michigan
Washington
Texas
FSU

They got it wrong both ways. By picking FSU ahead of UGA is very telling.

Why other fan bases get so bent out of shape when it wasn't even their team who supposedly got "wronged" is what blows my mind.
Must be because, in this particular instance, it's Alabama that got in. There is a rabid disdain for all things Alabama since the new streak to 16 straight wins over the VFLs began back in October.
Next year is y'all's year…..just like the previous 26 have been 🥱.

I'm assuming you have no "rabid disdain" for Vols fans either??
 
It's the entertainment industry. It's a business. It sells merchandise, fills stadiums, etc. It may not have always been that way but certainly since our life time...it has all been about the $. I've never thought it to be any thing less. It's fun to watch. But it's no more "real" to me than what wrestling is. We all have our favorite that we want to see win. We all have the ones that we want to see get beat. In the end though...it's all entertainment and a distraction from every day life.

Hence the problem. I understand that Florida St was ahead of ALABAMA in the Rankings because of their record and why.

What the Rankings don't show is a clear picture of who the best teams really are.

Clearly ALABAMA would Beat OSU, Oregon and FSU head to head match ups. And all three of those were ahead of ALABAMA in the polls.

What the playoff committee did was look at who the 4 best teams were NOW TODAY ready to play for a National Championship.

ALABAMA had the 5th Hardest Schedule this year, Went in and BEAT Georgia IN Georgia. They should just change the name of Mercedes Benz Stadium to Nick Sadam Stomping Grounds after Saturday. ALABAMA Still has some stuff of the field yet to prove but they have stood up to the every challenge put in front of them and came out victorious.

Lets be honest folks. Does anyone Really want to sit down and watch a Michigan V FSU game? Do you realize with the current Roster at FSU how much of a slaughter that would be?

The Playoff Committe has set this years National Championship to be potentially one of the best ones on record IMHO. It truely is going to be a shootout to the very end. ALL 4 of these teams really have a shot. In years past you could predictably say one of the teams was strongly the favorite. Honestly Its going to come down the wire on this one guys.

With that said I watched the Washington Oregon Game. Washington had some BIG dudes on their team. I was impressed with their overall size and the speed of the team. They looked really good. I think they have the potentiental to give Sark and Texas a run for their money. Sark really does have a great offensive mind and will certainly come in with a great game plan.

So if the rankings don't show the best teams until the last one of the year, then why have them at all? I thought they ranked teams throughout the year by how good they are? And what crystal ball did you use to clearly see that Alabama would beat OSU, FSU and Oregon in head to head play? You just assumed that because you have a front seat on the Alabama band wagon.

The weekly rankings put out by the College Playoff committee do not take into account games that have not been played yet. This means that strength of schedule and other factors change weekly. Alabama did not have credit for playing #1 Georgia nor winnning a conference championship in the week the prior rankings came out. This can account for some of the change.

It's all for show. Drama = more excitement. Most every college player is on scholarship for an education and a maybe a chance to make bigger money in bigger leagues. Either way they are covered for their future. Especially now with NIL deals. They are entertainers getting paid for putting on a show to the audiences. And the ringmasters sure know how to get people pumped and riled up. They've made diehard generational fans out of people that live and breath these college teams successes that never even went to that college, nor paid a dime of tuition at it. I like watching the games but at the same time...I'd be just fine if I never got to see another one. My whole life isn't centered around it like some people's.

I think Bama's ranking should not have stayed at 8 in the final weeks. We can agree on that. Undefeated does not mean they are the best team. That has been proven. Beating the number one team matters. Just so happened Alabama had that opportunity. Sometimes that can be a curse as well.
Strength of schedule matters Florida States undefeated record was with a SOS at 55th.

😂😂. So I guess that reality is VFL's will always be inferior to bammers? So Vol fans are just supposed to accept that they're inferior? So it's unrealistic to hope that one day the Vols will wipe their ass with bama?
