Tough morning

Hard rain made the morning uncomfortable. Had several birds gobbling early but could not get them to cross the river. Seemed like the birds went quite very quickly went from 9am to 2pm without a gobble.

Good time hunting but saw more coyotes than turkeys. Should've had the coyotes... Luck was not on my side.

What an addiction...

had not been out since opening morning went for about 4 hours (11-3) today. did not hear a single bird - not even a hen

I took my son from 2:00 until a little after 5:00. Had one gobbling his head off for 2 hours but he would not come in at all. Stayed out in a pipeline strutting and gobbling the entire time. Only saw one hen so not sure why he wouldn't commit.
