And the only dry land is at the base of a big cypress where debris has developed a bed among all its knees
...didnt know turkey traveled through water like they do until this year....i do know now that dont discredit a spot of turkey just because there is 15-20" of water

No such thing as a hardwood ridge down here anymore timberjack! All the ridges have been cut and replanted in pines! Just about our only open ground anymore are creek swamps where it stays too wet for the loggers! I know they'll eventually make their way into the swamps cutting and I dread it daily!

Freak I've seen them do stuff I never though I would witness in water! Several years ago a friend and I watched one fly across a flooded creek to an Island then walk through water up to his belly crossing flooded clear cut! Talk about love sick! I almost felt bad about killing him as much effort as he made to get to those 2 hens he was hearing!

I wished twra had available ridge land around me....i hunt carroll gibson crockett madison and weakley counties public grounds all are swamp based land kinda weird

Y'all don't listen to north40, he aint ever even killed a turkey before.....his wife does the killing, he just calls them in. :) :)

Thanks Roost! Hopefully she and I will be putting the hurt on some Rio's and Merriams the next 2 weeks. We leave Friday morning for Nebraska and Kansas!

I've gotta get out of these swamp chickens and get on some heavy birds to upgrade!

Hunting a friends ranch in Nebraska and public land in Kansas! She wants to go on over into Colorado and hunt if we can tag out early so who knows where we'll end up! Lol!

Breaking news out of "Team Alabama" camp last night. All I can say is its about to get real up in here :D

There are pics..... I've seen them. He is more than a couple hours drive from home though. ;)
