I have a 36 volt Minnkota Ultrex that I would like to trade for a 24 volt Ultrex or any with spot lock. Just thought I would check to see if anyone is trying to move up in power.

Tempted. I have a first gen Terrova. 80lb thrust. But I couldn't in good faith do that to a TnDeer friend. I told my girlfriend today, that I was gonna need a new trolling motor soon.
Yeah I had the terrova. I could never get used to it and "spot lock" meant it will keep you in a 100' radius lol. I gave it to my FIL.

I don't believe the Ultrex is dual. They sell a 24 volt and a 36 volt. I have the new Ultrex quest and it can be hooked up either way

I'm thinking you need to calibrate it. I been watching some YouTube videos on it and I guess I'm gonna dig out the manual and see if I can figure it out.. I'm useless when it comes to all this new fangled technology. Whatever happened to the good old Johnson and Mercury "Thrasher " trolling motors??

Depends on the generation, too. The pre-2017 ones were bad about roaming. The 2017 and later powerheads got a GPS upgrade for, I think, all the Minn Kota models from Terrova on up.
I think where you mount the GPS puck is critical so it can Bluetooth into the head…. And if that puck isn't wired correctly and blinking …… it won't work.
The puck actually has nothing to do with the spotlock.
Learn something everyday. I thought it was actually the GPS receiver…..

I have done this several times already. I saw a video where there is some kind of force offset depending on your boat size and drag in water. It goes from -2 up to 2, which i haven't tried that yet. Any other ideas? Is there a way to update it?
