Does anyone in here reload their own TSS loads? I've started to reload my own and have bought the starter kits from Hal. I'm looking to try a few different loads. Does anyone have another supplier to buy from that will supply a recipe? Seems that recipes are hard to find. I shoot 12, 20, and 410. Thanks

Hal is top notch. He will provide you with numerous recipes if you ask. I've tried a few different ones he provided by borrowing components from friends to keep from having to go all in. None of the ones I tried were superior enough over the original load he gave me to make me go buy all new components. All my guns like the Big20XL. I've been using Hal as a supplier for years.

Ok thanks. I will reach out to him in the morning

You might have to remind him that you've bought from him. Before he had his website and did everything by email or messenger, he was really good at remembering because most folks had a conversation with him before buying. Now, lots of people just order straight up and he might think you're just fishing for cheap info.

Check out Ronny savages lil hammer load. It's what I use and comparable to bigxl just different components. Buddy tried a bunch of bigxl alternatives and never found one that was as good. The lil hammer stacks up to it. I just went with it due to component availability at the time

Here is a thread from February where this subject was covered pretty thoroughly. And yes, there are other guys with their own load recipes.

Before I quit carrying a 12 gauge, my favorite 12 gauge load was from a guy named Tommy Dublia. He called it the "Blue Thunder." It used 3" new primed Rio hulls, which I don't think they sell anymore. I don't know if Tommy created an alternative version with a different hull. Also, I don't think Tommy is selling shot anymore, so I don't know if he still shares his load data. Tommy is from Middle TN. I have his number if you need it. But honestly, almost any 12 gauge load Hal gives you will be way more than adequate. Also, I have a bunch of 12 gauge components for various loads I tried over the years. If you need a few of something to try out a load, but don't want to order bags full before you test it, just shoot me a PM. If I have what you need, I can send you a sample pack for testing.

For the 20 gauge, obviously different guns like different loads. Hal has some good ones, but I cannot say enough good things about Ronnie Savage's "Lil' Hammer" load. It does use a specific nitro card under the wad, but otherwise, the components for it are relatively easy to find. It is also one of the easier loads to make (no mylar wraps, cork/felt fillers, etc.) and it patterns better than any other shell I've ever loaded into my gun.

For the .410, honestly, there is very little variation between the loads you will get from Hal, Tommy, or Ronnie. Most of them use the same hull, same wad, roughly the same amount of shot, no buffer, then crimp. But Hal is a passionate .410 aficionado. He hunts almost exclusively with a .410 or 28 gauge himself. So I would just stick with Hal for .410 recipes. He has a few different options. I've tried several, and all of them are great. However, when you get read to make your .410 loads, there are a couple of small tricks that other loaders have taught me over the years. They probably wont show up in the recipe, but I cleared them with Hal before implementing. I'll be happy to share if you would like. Just shoot me a PM when you get ready.
