TUA

He does seem like a good kid and a hell of a talent.

Don't know what he'll end up doing but I think the greater risk might be coming back to Bama & risk getting injured again.
I think at this point somebody might still grab him in the first round. Hell every year teams over extend big time when drafting QBs. The other scenario is he gets drafted in a later round and has the possibility to go a much better team.
I haven't studied the draft much yet so I don't know who has picks in each round. But regardless, would you rather get beat to death in Miami or Washington, or go play with some weapons and an established O Line somewhere?

Good point. Even better if he went somewhere with an established, veteran QB nearing retirement. Heal and watch for a year, then be ready to take over the following year. Just hope it isn't somebody like Favre who throws a wrench in those plans by not being willing to call it quits :D !

I'm obviously no bama fan but I truly wish him the best. He needs to move on up and get paid

I see that point and agree.
However, if the experts (doctors) are right and he can fully recover from the injury, what if he does come back and puts on a show all year and possibly even wins the Heisman, how much MORE would he get paid?

Of course the flip side is he gets hurts again and it's all over.

Be a tough call either way, not even to mention the "school pride" and playing with his team again?

As you I just wish him the best, seems like a top shelf guy.

That's actually a good question, Ruger. If he is projecting first round 5-15, what would be the money difference if he came back and ended up going 1-3 in 2021 draft? I don't know the signing bonuses and pay structures well enough.
He'll have to compete with Trevor Lawrence in the 2021 draft if he does come back, and whoever the usual flavor of the month ends up being.

If his gonna get hurt again it better be with a first round 4 year deal with a NFL team. He will have that if he comes out this year.

He cant risk going back and getting hurt in anyway possible, big difference in a first round top 10-15 pick paycheck. And 4th rounder paycheck coming off another season ending injury.

Hope the best

Last year picks 10-15 the area Tua is believed to go made anywhere from 18.9 - 14.5 million. if TUA could could jump to top 10 pick very possible his looking at a 20million deal.

So if he stayed and came and was a top 5 pick he would be looking at 30 million+

If he stayed got hurt again dropped to the 3ed round he would be looking at 3 or 4 million.

I would take the 15-20 million this year.

Oh yeah. I mean I knew it was all "life changing" kinda money, but didn't know exactly how much. That is a big difference though & it's easy for me to sit here & say I'm good with 15, keep your 30... but the risk reward has to point to the NFL.

I see what your saying there is a big difference between let's say 16.5million if he goes 12 or 13th overall and maybe possibly going top 5 making 32 million.

There is also a big difference in going from 16.5 million to 3 or 4 million. If he drops to the 3ed.

Let's say he only drops mid to early 2ed with another injury looking at 6 or 7 million compared to 16-17 million.

Risk vs reward is right.

He needs to risk and bet on himself being good in the NFL so he can get that 2ed contract making 40+ million. A YEAR then his not caring what he made his first few years in the leauge

At this point, it's not about showing what he can do. Everybody has seen him make all the throws and knows how physically gifted he is.

He said on his social media stuff that he will make his announcement on the 6th.

I like the kid. The first words I remember him saying on national tv was "first and foremost I have to thank my lord and savior Jesus Christ. Through him all things are possible". That blew my mind and I was an instant fan. That took some guts in today's world to stand there and proclaim that.

I think the flip side of that coin is if he comes back next year we lose Jones for sure . He transfers out . We lose a stud of a quarterback right there . TUA stumps his big toe , and is out for the season and where are we at with a QB for the rest of the season ?

It's certainly putting all your eggs in one basket . I'm sure Saban will make the right call . He's the master and the fan base will support him no matter which direction he goes .

I'm sure most fans would like to see TUA return and I'm sure Saban feels ALABAMA chances are better at winning the NC are better with TUA than Jones . But a small part of me is gun shy on TUA and his fragile nature .

That's what they are saying.... We havent seen much of him playing. I am sure they don't want to redshirt him just yet. But he certainly is the up and coming from all counts. Time will tell. That could be Saban the Masters plan. To have Tulia Ready if Tua goes down. All of this is just flapping the jawls till football season rolls around again. :)
