didnt hear a thing look over and there he is strutting 20 yds from me,,, looked right at me was unalarmed,, made a couple love calls to the hen and went right to the jake,, was able to get situated when he turned his back.. Decided on a body shot at 15 yds didnt want to chance missing him,, took out his left leg -then one to the back of head.. Thought I was going to get stumped again,,, things change quick... good luck.. turk

Thats more risky than missing him like you said. One legged turkey hobbling around till it killed him.
