My Dad and I went out this morning to check some spots to see if we could here them gobbling. Well we weren't disappointed. Didn't even have to leave the drive way and heard three different gobblers. Then drove down to another spot and the crows were going crazy and so were the gobblers. Heard at least four or five different birds. Third spot same result. Had to run an errand and came back through to see if they were out in the field and counted 8 different strutting and about 70+ hens. Fired up now for sure. Come on April 3.

I heard one this morning I pulled out my mouth call and hit it and I was about 200 yards from a flock of hens and 3 or 4 Tom's they went crazy for a few minutes...made me feel good because it was first time I used mouth call in woods and they reacted!!!

just MY opinion but be VERY careful about using turkey calls prior to season....all you can do his hurt you yourself by doing so. You dont want to educate them any more then they already are..

glad folks are hearing some. On old tale i still to this day follow is...when the dog woods bloom turkeys will be ready to go. has held true every single year as the first blooms of dogwoods or bradford pears the more tom activity i have sen.

Ren I agree we had only heard one gobble all morning so I thought what the heck...when they reacted I put it up! Couldn't believe they were so close.

Hammering here this am. I think i could have killed one banging two rocks together. Once again the season will be late for my area. Can you say henned up.

I hate the season starting so late. They gobble better early where I hunt.I keep hearing people say they gobble good in late season when hens go to nest.Where I hunt they almost are done gobbling after the third week of season. We don't even waste time late in the year out there.

I'm in morgan co. and all my spots have no gobbling birds....lots of scratching but no gobbing...getting aggravated.....

Never ever ever ever ever have I been out on the 3rd weekend in March and not heard a bird...don't know what i'm going to do with the juvys next weekend....

We are missing the best hunting but that maybe by design.
