Personally I believe it's predators. Coons and oppossums are thriving.

Ok seriously, I'm not aware of any existing chicken houses here in SW Lincoln county but they are building new ones a mile south of Taft. I have no idea when they'll go operational if they aren't already.
The number of turkeys I see around here now makes me want to cry. When I first moved here 6 years ago, we used to see big 15-30 bird flocks/herds/whatever they're called. Now, I very rarely see them. And that includes the surrounding properties around here, not just my property.
