Are the blades sharp? tried a few new heads and blade were not very sharp.

My blades were dull but I used a diamond stone to touch them up. They are a single bevel blade so according to Trophy Taker single bevel blades don't "feel" sharp but I spoke to Zach at Trophy Taker today. They were definitely dull. They are fully aware that their blade supplier had some dull blades in the initial release but they have fixed the problem and they will send a new pack of heads if you have the problem. I declined since I simply sharpened them.

There is another issue Trophy Taker is having. According to TT the replacement blades will not fit in some heads cause the original heads are a different spec than the new blades. They are correcting this issue by sending out a new pack of heads.

Yes these are issues but I think they are "growing pains". This head looks to be a winner.

I just got an email from Zach Butcher.... I emailed him before I read this post & realized what was going on...
I have had a pack for a couple weeks & decided to open them & give them a fling..... Well, they were extremely dull..

I emailed him & he came back & copied another person on the email... He said they would take care of me...

I wonder what they will do.... We have only 11 days til bowseason, I would hate to wait for mine to get back to them & then the replacements mailed.......

Go ahead and sharpen the blades like I did on the heads you have now.

I will go ahead and do that..... i did shoot them and they are dead on at 30 yards.... I was impressed with the flight, I just wish the sharpness was there.....
I was told that there was a sharpness guarantee and they would take care of me......I believe they would do it if I held them to it....

Do the guarantee and keep the heads. I spoke to TT and declined the replacement heads since I was able to sharpen my heads.

Ut, wow no grimm reapers? You should just shoot a rage! I show you success every year! :) Hey that broadhead is similar. Your getting closer! LOL! Good Luck this year man!

As season gets closer I might put the Grim Reaper in play. It's proven plus it has a 3 blade cut vs 2. The Ulmer is a great design but not sure of the benefit on whitetail at close range.
