Ron Zook once had that title... :)

Unfortunately, I'll have to agree with that observation. I appreciate what Butch has done, but I'm not 100% sold at this point. IMO, his coaching cost UT the Florida game last year. But, his coaching led to a major beatdown of Iowa as well, so I'm still undecided at this point. But, he has done a heck of a job in upgrading the talent on the Hill.

And scn throws a curve ball. Well played Master Bureaucrat. Vol fans on "Sports Talk Vol Nation Only" forum sit in front of their keyboards in a state of consternation. To agree with scn the Great places their Butch love in question, yet to disagree, oh the wrath of the Master will surely rain down upon them. Come fellow Vol haters. Let us sit back and watch what now will unfold before our very eyes.

There is no debating butch jones' ability to recruit top notch talent or promote a program. Although his on the field coaching skills have yet to be proven, he has been able to thrust the vols back into the national spotlight in a very short amount of time regardless of a mediocre (at best) record. He sort of reminds me of a certain coach that bolted from nashville for penn state, without the winning record and signature victories over big in conference programs in such quick fashion.
