Heard a highpower rifle shot about a half mile away right on my border Sat eve. Texted the neighbor to see if he heard it, b/c we had a tresspassor on camera about a month ago.

turns out he put a laser on his .308 (no idea why), and it was him confirming zero on his rifle. Had to almost wait until dark to be able to see the laser on target.

I only bow hunt myself but I can't tell you how many times the guy on a neighboring property, who I know is the only guy hunting it because he made a special trip to tell me if I shot a deer and it ran onto his property it's his deer. He doesn't bow hunt at all but when muzzle loader opens he has a semi auto ML, must be an a nice one real quick rate of fire.

That can be aggravating for sure BUT…..it could've been a coyote or groundhog that took the bullet.

Still illegal if it was a centerfire rifle.
