Looks like Texas and some others are cancelling spring games. Citing "player poaching" as the reason. Not sure what that means exactly.
I see this as the biggest drawback. The fans that look forward to this every year that cannot afford tickets to a regular season game that want to see a live game.It sucks from the standpoint of the spring game being the only one that a lot of families can afford to take their kids to.
it's just a glorified practice/scrimmage for the families/fans to the give them something to look forward to in the spring
I agree. And i watch a bunch of them just because its football and to see a few of the top recruits. I hate to see them end. And i agree, it seems like it is hard to hide talent in todays time periodit's just a glorified practice/scrimmage for the families/fans to the give them something to look forward to in the spring
I don't know that I agree with that. The spring season is primarily for conditioning, learning plays, and building chemistry among the team. Coaches use this time to evaluate their roster, try different combinations of players, and make adjustments to their game plan. This is 2025. You can't hide player performance.
