They looked like crap. I walked out of the stadium feeling like they lost.

Of course I am going to be cheering on VT but with that said.

I think it could be a toss up with the slight edge going to VT.

Vols Played really bad against AS. If history repeats itself they are probably focusing on Ohio and Florida in the coming weeks . They seem to have tunnel vision especially when it comes to Florida . They feel they just have to Beat them . There may even be pressure above to win at all costs . I would not be surprised to see 3 losses in a row .

By the thread on here nobody thought Appy St was anything.

VT was on tv locally only Saturday.
Their O was predictably bad-as it has been for 3-4 years now, little running game if any.
New JUCO transfer QB did show some promise and they might have two of the better receivers in the nation with Ford and Hodges. O-line completely sucks just like it has for many, many years now.
The D is basically unchanged, pressuring the QB[mostly from the edges] is still their game plan which opens the middle for QB runs and leaves one-on-one coverage in the D backfield.

Appy State is a much better team than most know or give credit to. All that they have done in the past 10-15 years is WIN. UT now knows that they are not a team to look past as they can and will bite you.

While I have lived my entire life within 15 miles of and been a fan of VT, I am also a UT fan and attend an occasional game in Knox.

I don't see any way that UT loses to VT without something odd turning the game.

Just my .02 worth.

IMHO ASU can beat many teams, especially if they are being looked past. They are a very well coached team, won their first bowl game last year and were at or near the very top of D1-AA[or whatever] for many years. Those top 5 or so teams in 1AA are very, very good. ASU lived in that top 5. Can't blame UT or VT for looking past last weeks game. Imagine being 19-20 years old and knowing that you are a week away from playing in front of a possible 150K+ folks live.
VT will struggle to score against UT. 10 points maybe.
