what gripes me is gnb always talking smack about the vols and then trying to sell his stuff to their fans. It seems his life revolves around running someone down. He has stated on here it is all in fun but it is his life and it isnt fun when you run someone down. Get over yourself. Football isnt life and if the gators win what did you have to do with it? Sorry, just being honest. Truth hurts sometimes

We are just talking college football... :) Several of us are friends on here and we joke back in forth on here about UT and FL. I know it's hard to tell but several of us know each other and have hunted together. Talking about college football has nothing to do with are personally feeling with each other, it's just talking trash about teams that play a game on the weekends that give us some entertainment....... :)

Keep in mind that not everything that appears on the surface is what is really going on behind the scenes. A good example would be a member on here giving me a call to see if I would attend Sundays UT game with him. I was unable too because of being out of town all week. We have went to the UT vs FL game together in the past and he straightens me up all the time on here... :)

I have no problem with G-n-B as a person or member, but I do believe he (and at least one other who seems to have disappeared) takes the Vol bashing and football talk in general too far. When a potential new member visits and sees the General Forum on a deer hunting site practically drowning in football-related topics, it can't be very appealing.

That saturation is likely the key reason so many threads are being moved. This site is a campfire and the General Forum has always been the catch-all for the topics of the moment, whether it's current news, family and personal moments, or seasonally related topics, such as holidays and sports.

If one person sitting around the fire tries to dominate the conversation with constant variations of the same topic, it becomes redundant, boring, and eventually annoying. The fire starts dying down and threads get moved or deleted. Then in an apparent attempt to stir the pot, they start threads (like the one linked below) that can easily be taken as direct shots at the moderators. That's when annoying becomes ridiculous and disrespectful.

I really wish the moderators would state that if we want to discuss football (which is at them time a current event) that it's okay to post on the General Forum, but if we want to bore the audience with worthless statistics and daily bashing, we take it to the appropriate forum. Enough is enough and I'm ready to see the General Forum return to a more balanced blend of topics.

I didn't start this thread and can only imagine who it was aimed at.... :) Campfires aren't one way streets... :)

No you didn't start it, but you are obviously behind a lot of the excess on here and a huge factor in why so many threads are being moved. Maybe...just maybe even the most die-hard college football fan is tired of seeing so much trash talk in the General Forum. At times it's like walking into Walmart and discovering half the inventory has been replaced with 12 packs of Bubba Cola.

Ummmm... You mean the same school I attended... :) UTs a fine school but I don't expect UT football fans to talk nicely about the Gators football team.... :)

Am I interpreting your comment correctly? You attended UT but you are a Florida Gator fan?

Yep... So did my wife and now my son... Both are Gator fans... :)

I will say only this:

I like to watch college football when I can.
I don't know enough about it to talk about but I do enjoy the "official school v/s school" threads where comments are made on almost a real time play by play fashion.

I do, or did, get very tired of reading the constant bashing.
I don't anymore because I don't read them.

Well I read some of them when they are reported almost on a daily basis.

Just a day or so ago an account had to be turned off by a moderator because they carried it too far.

I would suggest everyone tone it down.
I have no problem with football being posted about in the general forum but when everyone forgets that we have new people coming on every day and it gives a very bad impression of tndeer and it's members when some of the crap I have seen lately is being posted.

Treasonous. UT should levy a lifetime campus ban.

Friend of mine told me in 09 that the Vols would win a NC within 3 years. I'm still waiting on my $100 bet :D . And i would bet him double or nothing for 10 years from now :D

I don't dislike Tn at all. Just like giving my friends heck with it. The only thing that gets old is when i hear all the fans say "we'll be good next yr", or "wait til next year".

Did Twinshooter and G8rntn get whacked? Those two were going at it pretty good all summer. I was looking forward to seeing whether they would both survive the UT vs Florida game.

I thought I have seen Twinshooter around... I tried to stay out of their way... :D

G8rntn has been gone since Ruger had a talk with him but Twinshooter is on here!

Not sure it was Ruger's talk. School is back in session. 8th grade is very hard. :)

They are very quite tonight but they will come out of the woodwork after the Oklahoma game

Don't care either way, but...this was a squash game for UT. UT's opponent wasn't exactly a football power house. So no need for the haters to come out of the woodwork. They will be out later. :D

G-N-B is a good person and do enjoy jawin with him :/,some people can't help being a gator, you can always appreciate a person that is true to their school.
Did anyone dove hunt today, I just got back didn't do bad 14 doves and 20 shots fired.

GO VOLS!! :D

I know.... :D Grew 40 minutes from the Swamp so I couldn't just change teams because I took some classes at UT. I had no choice since UT was closer. :)

I can relate Bruce...Grew up a TN fan...attended UT for 3 yrs. then Auburn for 4 more and graduated from AU.....But I've always been a TN fan and always will be....I don't run down AU though...

And I do truly HATE Alabama....for obvious reasons...
