Vols OC Mike Debord

With Butch ' s track record it will probably be Scott. And he may be fine but doesn't have the experience and would be another of his guys.

If it isn't going to be a big name who can bring in and run his own offense, Butch might as well promote someone and hire Chris Weinke to coach QBs. I could be OK with that.

Regardless of who it is, if Butch doesn't bring in someone who can mentor and develop QBs, it will not be a good hire.

Although I normally would suggest going with someone with a winning record...

I am not sure Vols are In Any great position to go after some of the top picks and NO I do not mean that to be stirring the pot . I just realistically don't see a top pick wanting to come to TN with such uncertainty.

With that said the most realistic pick and best pic up for the Vols would probably be Mark Helfrich.

He has the expertise and experience and perhaps coming off a firing and losing record he may be a coach in desperate search of a home . I see that as a win win for TN .

They desperately need a qb guru.
That's what makes an offense really click.
Can officially start the Gruden rumor?

Peyton at one time said he would consider, TENNESSEE coaching job, would be great!

Peyton makes more $$$$$doing a single Papa Johns commercial than TN could ever pay in a year . I really don't see anyone but a NFL team hiring him . More like a commentating job in his future IMHO

"Reports and murmurs around the program seem to suggest that a co-coordinator setup with current tight ends coach Larry Scott is likely".

"The most popular name to join Scott in that setup is Carolina Panthers quarterbacks coach Ken Dorsey".

"Dorsey is a relatively young coach. He was Cam Newton's quarterback coach during his MVP season in 2015."

"That would obviously mean Dorsey would be UT's quarterbacks coach".

Money has nothing to do with it, he is always contributing to UT, he already has the money

While that may be true I feel certain he is looking at his portfolio and retirement plan and how he can maximize it .

To his credit he is not like a lot of the thugs in the NFL that are out there blowing it on parties and hookers and riding and dying in the street .

People said over & over UT needed a true QB coach. That it would have helped Dobbs.

So Getting a guy who worked with cam during a MVP run does sound interesting. Having a young QB like Guarantano that fits makes it sound even better.

But who know probably won't happen & of it did it could all go up in flames.

Ken Dorsey would be a good get... Guy was UNREAL at Miami.
