vols SC odds ?

Re: vols SC odds ?

I'm good with the loss, hopefully a pink slip follows Monday morning. I can see the AD waiting till the end of season unfortunately

Yeah if Butchie was going to get the hammer it was/should have been during the BYE week. I don't see any advantage in changing coaches at this point in the season . Makes almost as much sense as say starting out a new quarterback for the first time .

I think when you've made the decision, you pull the trigger right then. It doesn't do any good, and could do more harm, to wait if you know you are firing him.

Recruits are dropping, we need to begin putting out feelers for coaches, fire him and place an interim that can work on salvaging a recruiting class and finishing the season.

I agree with you. Some who claim to know are saying Monday week. We'll see.

Re: vols SC odds ?

Im gonna say a search has been underway since the UF game. Im also going to say that Butchs fate has already been relayed to him. Vols just want to make sure that they have the man they want tied on this time before they cut Butch loose.

If you think a qb change wasn't needed, you haven't watched the VOLS play much. I don't blame it all on dormady but he wasn't getting ANYTHING done AT ALL

IDK

I think both QB that vols have show potential and will mature in time . They have to play to mature . vols if they were to buckle down and plan for the long haul would see the value in them and plan for the future . Not try and salvage a already disaster of a season .

i completely agree with your logic, let go of the past (dormady) and plan for the future (JG)

Re: vols SC odds ?

man i am glad i had to work, going bye your post i figure i will save myself the misery by not watching it on dvr.As far as firing ole butch mid season is there not an advantage to being first on the board "officially"and having that extra number of weeks for search compared to waiting until the end were there would be more coaching openings and less time.

Let go of the Past (Butch Jones) and plan for the future(A proven head football coach). Tennessee is one of the wealthiest schools in the Nation, they can afford a buy-out and also offer top dollar to a proven Head Coach.

What is the advantage of keeping Butch at this point. Tennessee will be lucky to get Bowl eligible this year. @Alabama, @Kentucky, Southern Miss, @Missouri, LSU, and Vandy are left on the schedule. Other than Southern Miss I don't see another team that the vols will win. The Vols aren't beating AL or LSU, @KY and @Missouri will be 50/50 games. It looks likely they will be playing for Bowl eligibility against Vandy after Thanksgiving. :2c:

i completely agree. My past vs future reference was to the statement that was made about Tn not needing a qb change. Only thing I disagree with that you said is that Tn will be playing vandy for bowl eligibility...... I see zero chance of Tn reaching a bowl game.

Re: vols SC odds ?

you won you big baby. and the pass hit the ground with :01 on the clock

OLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina coach Will Muschamp still has some questions about the final seconds at Tennessee, even though the Gamecocks held on for a 15-9 victory on Saturday.

Muschamp said Sunday he's asked the Southeastern Conference to review the final seconds of the game, when the Vols were able to get off two plays from the Gamecocks' 2-yard lin e with four seconds to go.

A pass from Tennessee quarterback Jarrett Guarantano was batted down by South Carolina defensive lineman D.J. Wonnum, a play that was ruled to take just three seconds. That let the Vols try one last pass — also incomplete — before time ran out.

It was the Gamecocks' second straight win over Tennessee and moved Muschamp to 6-0 all-time as a head coach against the Vols.
