VOLS vs. ole miss

When is the honeymoon with coach Butch over? When will the problems become the coach and not the o-line? He couldn't win last year with an entire nfl quality o-line. When they win its a butch slap and coach Butch is the best, when they lose, the team is young and the o line sucks. I understand they are playing lots of freshman, but they don't seem to be improving, they seem to be getting worse. As a whole, the vols looked better to me earlier in the season than they do now. If they continue on at this pace, by the time they play vandy, the game might end in overtime. 0-0.
 
Not necessarily getting worse but strength of schedule is cranking up. Ole Miss is the #3 team in the country. Or did you miss that part?
 
Butch Jones has been here 1 and 1/2 seasons. This program wasnt run down in two years. What makes you people think it can be rebuilt in two years. I get that you are not a fan so its easy to look over these things and trash talk UT, but the facts are he has not had enough time to win yet.
 
Here is what I saw last night. The UT defense is solid until they get worn out. They played and almost a shutdown for 3 quarters. They had to be on the field far too much and simple got tired and lost a step.

The offense can't score or eat up and control clock. I think the UT punter had 9 or 10 punts last night. The best defense in the nation can't defend 2/3rds of the game.

Both had 9 punts a piece.

no I know they are a really good team, maybe the best defense in the nation. But I also know the vols had terrible play calling, 0 rushing Yds, and under two hundred Yds of total offense. I also didn't miss that the vols didn't score a touchdown against what vol fans call the worst coach in the nation. (Which he isn't, Vanderbilt's is) I'm just saying the vols seem to be getting worse as the season progresses. They started out playing a good Oklahoma team well, and looked good against Georgia. I just don't think Butch is getting the most out of his guys.
 
Yes they had all of that offensively but on the other side of the line of scrimmage was probably the beat defense in the confrence. Our defense WAS stopping the rebels until the second half started. Offense couldnt stay on the field and our d got gassed.
