Today was the first day the weather actually kept me from killing a bird.
Had 2 gobbling like crazy on the roost with my 10yo set up at their flydown spot. We set up at 515, so had to sit there over an hour before gobble time. They gobbled like crazy despite the spitting snow, but today was the one day they refused to fly down until 8am. By then my daughter was frozen like a popsicle, and she just couldn't handle any more. We left them still gobbling on the ground, and it almost killed me.
I went back to that bird 3 hours later with my 9yo nephew, and he was still answering every call. Unfortunately he gobbled up a coyote who ruined the chance at his first bird. Miserable day for us, but the turkeys were still doing their thing like it was nothing at all.
