Well, figured it would happen sooner or later. camera gone. Bastards bent the posts around the gates and went in on 4 wheeler. They left my stand but took the camera. Figure they will be back for the stand. Screw it. not gonna buy anymore cameras and if they take the stand just gonna start using a climber. A shame a hard working man cant have anything these days.

I think ill take a cheap camera and put it up in a tree on daytime mode only to see if i can catch them coming back in. Even if i do im sure the law wont do anything though. I dont get it.

Most hunters i know have more stands than they use and enough cameras. i dont know why they steal this stuff. i gues for some pocket change. if i need a stand i go buy one. not worth the risk and time to go steal a 100$ stand or 75$ camera. I hope i catch them

oh and this in the hohenwald, tn area. anyone sees a wildgame innovations camera for sale, one of the smaller ones let me know. long shot but never know. got to be someone that lives around the place. its a dark green one. I just wish they would have left the dang sd card so i could check my pics!

Make them hard to see and a pain to steal. Mount them 12 ft in the air and aim them down along the trail or over whatever attractant you are using.

I have never had a trail cam stolen and I have had up to 20 of them on public land at one time. I have 12 out on public land right now. I did lose one but only because I didn't mark the location on my GPS and I forgot where I hung it. I know...I'm an idiot.

ah no big deal ruger. its only material things. Makes you mad, but hey, cant sit around worrying about it. Still looking forward to a great season no matter what happens!

I'll probably jinx myself now, but this is what I have done:
- First thing out of the box (after making sure it works), it cover in the stretchy camo tape. I am trying out taping and then spray painting some this year.
- Place them above eye level. This is why I like the Moultrie M80s. They have a red light that you use to make sure they are aimed right. I think "out of sight, out of mind". I have numerous photos of people walking right past.
- Don't forget to hide the strap. If possible place on a tree that has leaves that conceal the sides of the camera. This backfires when wind catches the leaves and blows them around in front of the camera. Then you get over 2,000 photos in a single week! Cover strap with leaves, sticks or paint.
- Don't use the glow in the dark tacks to mark you trail to the cam.

Soldering iron... carve your DL# into the face of your camera. Makes it reeeeeal hard to re-sell like that, and reeeeeal easy to track back to you.

I know your pain someone stole mine about 3 weeks ago they even took my trophy rock. I will keep hunting the area since it is my land. I will probably have my wife drop me off and wait for them to come in and try to hunt. It will come back to them.

I've had my share of hunting equipment stolen, but it wasn't hunters, it was thieving methheads. Are you sure it was other "hunters"? Anyway, hope you nail their sorry hydes! Can't stand a sorry lowdown cowardly thief! Oh, and definitely invest in an IR, or black flash cam, and set it up to watch the area around your stands. The last cam I had stolen was close by one of my stands, so I took the stand down, but set up some cams to surveil the area. I caught the sorry scum coming back in, but just didn't have enough clarity in the pic to make an identification. His/their day is coming tho.

Hate crooks: I place a note on mine: If your going to "steal" this camara. Better look hard there is a second one taking a image of you. Never had one swiped but have a few "non-member" images.

I did this exact thing, except with my TWRA number, on the camera that I put on public land.
