Well dang!

Three hens and a tom flew down in the field. I'm thinking this is it...keep telling myself stay calm...no rush because they typically linger in this field all day. I have a tree line that I can maneuver undetected. The hens lead him about 45 yards in front of me. He is on the move... I don't feel comfortable...one thought says shoot...they other says wait. Of course I shoot. You know what happens next.....they all fly away.

Missing is an awful feeling.

I have to leave by 7:30. Wondering if I should just leave now.

I'd stay and move elsewhere until 7:30. You never know what they'll do or where another bird is.
