Well...Here it is Guys!!!!

Looks like you are feeding you passion to be a very good trail camera builder. Looks good Jim. Can't wait to my camera back and get it out.

After playing around with FIREMANJIM's video unit in my backyard, I think it will work great. I could see the light out to about 4 feet, and if I kept looking at the lights as I backed up, out to 8 to 10 feet. However, when I looked away, and then looked back, I had lost it. I had to get back within 4 feet before I could see the lights again.

And talk about sensative, it was easily picking me up 40-50 feet away on a hot night, even when I was at an angle from the unit.

Next up, true "in the field" testing.

Well how is it black flash if you can see it?

Deer cannot see as high into the long-wavelength red light spectrum as we can. If a human can barely see it (and I could not see it beyond 8-10 feet, and only at that distance if I knew exactly where to look), I'll bet the deer don't see it (but I'll be testing that soon). I never set cams that close to where I expect the deer to be (salt lick). My cams are usually set at least 15 feet from the lick. But again, I'll be testing a deer's ability to see the video light over the next few weeks. If they can see it (react to the light), then the unit will have to be classified as ultra "low-glow."

In addition, every person's vision is different. Some people can see a faint glow from the Uway and Reconyx black-flash cams, even though most people cannot.
