Nothing wrong with the S&W Shield. Unless you want a .45ACP then you need to look at Springfield Armory XD.

Favorite Pistol is a S&W 39-2.

Favorite Daily carry never leave home w/out it, is my Glock G48. I love it, holds lots of boolits and is slim. Basically its a slender G19

I'm looking at getting the S&W Shield Plus with the cut out for optics. Can anyone tell me why I shouldn't?

I've owned a Shield since they came out. It gets carried more than anything. I want the Plus, but S&W has decided I don't need a .40S&W, so I'll have to stick with what I have.

The only thing I'd say you shouldn't do is put a red dot on a carry gun.
