What are they doing *updated, resolved*

I don't think a warden will benefit with the stand being on his property. Nothing much can be done until you catch him shooting on you. Don't understand the people who want to hug a property line. Especially setting up and facing the property they aren't supposed to shoot on.

If I were in your shoes the nice part was when you ran them off a few weeks ago while coon hunting. Even if it's different people deer hunting I'm sure something was mentioned about you catching them. Next time someone was on my side I'd be prosecuting. It may benefit to give the warden a call over that so he'll know your side of the story already.

Wife posting pics on Facebook got things rolling to get this resolved. Owner somehow got our landline number and talked with my wife while I was hunting. I called him back after I got in and I think it will all be good from here forward.

That's a fantastic outcome. Awesome for you.

So was it him? Did he know he was trespassing?
When I caught them a couple weeks ago, it was his son and couple other boys, his son was right at the line when I caught them. His son knew the property lines, but the others didn't. He said he didn't know about the times last year but admitted it may have been his son.

What about the stand being on the line, having to be on you to hang it, and facing towards you? Glad you got to talk to the land owner and have his contact info for the future.

They may have traps set for coons and can only check them on Sunday nights? Who knows, unless you ask them.

Don't rush in all blustery, hollerin', "What the hell are doing!?!?!" Just calmly say you're only curious about what they're up to back there at night.

Per the regs, all traps must be checked at least once every 24 hours.

"Per the regs". Not necessarily obeyed by everyone.

Or, maybe they slip back there during daylight on Saturday and check them later Sunday night. Just guessing. I know there are a TON of coons in the area around me.

*nevermind…. Saw where you figgered it out…

Yes sir, I never realized just how many there are in my area.
We trapped nearly 30 in 1 month, it was like a never-ending supply.
That was with only 2 traps being set each night.
