Are they still grouped up? Or have they split up? I saw 2 lone gobblers on my private land this morning, Grundy county, and it got me to wondering whats everyone else seeing statewide? This time last year they were still grouped up.

Down south they're in big flocks with multiple gobblers and loads of hens. Gobble good until they touch leaves

When I left tn they were in separate groups still but we're gobbling and strutting

The woods are behind by a week or two down south and at home it looks like January in east tn

I've had 25-30 hens and jakes on game cameras for 2 weeks and not a single longbeard. I'm expecting them to show up next week.

Hard to see but this is a gobbler full strut with 3 hens yeaterday

SW TN - Big flocks (20-40) around here and a little gobbling on the limb, not much more when their feet hit the ground. The groups that are visible from the road have 2-4 strutters in the group, strutting some parts of the day, but not all of the time.

I just had a lone gobbler come thru the field at the house. I also seen a lone hen a few days ago so they might be starting to separate from the big flocks

Hen'd up :)

On most of the areas I hunt in Wilson and Trousdale county they are still in big flocks. Saw 23 hens with 2 gobblers this morning in one flock and another flock with 20 hens and 5 toms. Even the group by my house has 20+ hens and 3 toms.

Landowner was telling me he was seeing groups of 30-50 most evenings down in his wheat fields.

Setterman (or anyone), with it being the way it is, do you think the fighting purr could be an effective call this weekend since the pecking order could be an issue?
