What did you do today in the reloading room?

Buy a good set of dies, I have 3 sets, 2 long range and a set short range. Or 105 weight and 65 grain weight. Buy correct jackets 1.150" J4 for long and .825" for short. I source the lead cores through a vendor that will cut them to about any weight to the tenth of a grain. These are ordered after weighing jackets. Combined weight of jacket and core are desired finished weight. Die sets have 2 dies, core seat (lead) and point die. I seat cores first then point them. It takes lots of time to produce quality bullets not a good option for resale. I do it as a hobby, and do enjoy seeing the transformation to finished product. I did not go into the punches needed. Core seat punches as well as boattail punches.

I loaded up about 75 or so rounds of .45 ACP. Most loaded with a 200 gr. SWC with 5.0 gr. Titegroup. And a few much hotter, with Lee TC 240 gr. cast with 14.0 gr. AA7. Shot the AA7 loads in my Mauser .45 and they clocked 1550 fps.
 
Setup new resizing and expanding dies for 45-70, and prepped 50 pcs of brass.

Tried to SS clean some 9 brass. Frankford Platinum gear. End caps will not stop leaking. I have new seals but should have removed them each time they were used.

Anyone have experience with the RCBS tumbler (RCBS # 87001)?

Starting to think Frankford is not so good after all.

Turns out we have two sets of RCBS dies-one for the bolt gun and other (SB) for the 308 we eventually sold because it would not stay in one piece.

Tested the bolt die first with fired 308 from SCAR, chambered easy and I spent some time mic'ing every measurement. So far, looks very good.

Loaded a few pieces of brass with 150 FMJ, 150 Accubond, 150 Partition no primer no powder, checking for functionality. All is well. Now, varget, Fed 210M, 5 of each then off to range.

This is brand new by FN--was not anticipating trouble.

To follow-up on this load, had a very wide node at 2800 fps and started hitting pressure at 2870 fps.

Will fine tune the seating depth, but 2800 fps with the Berger 195 will perform well out west.
 
Got my 6 PPC dies out and loaded a few rounds to shoot a couple targets next time I get a chance,, 1st UBR Match for me is April 5th and need to get a little practice in, I haven't shot any UBR targets since the Nationals last Sept

Have you ever tried making bullets from pistol brass or .22 LR brass?
 
My wife's cousin had a set for .308" rifle bullets and another for .357". Both Corbin, and his son sold them for basically beer and cigarette money. I didn't know about it or I would have snatched them up.
