Well we struck out at LBL.....nary a gobble or silent bird for that matter.
I did hear about two birds purr back at me from some thick stuff near evening.
Both at LBL and Chuck Swann we heard what sounded like a big water drip coming out of a faucet into a partially full metal pail. It goes 'doo ink...do oink ".

Saw two hens and a atom but were too far away and uninterested

Nope not spitting the elusive hen water drop call they make, it's a content happy hen noise they make when they are feeding along with other turkeys. I cannot mimic the sound on any call and have never heard anyone mimic it either

Are you serious or are you fooling with me?

No fooling, though I didnt know the name of it. Its kinda like they are sucking in air into a hollow tube while feeding and it echos a bit.

I think this guy is way to proud of his own turkey calling, but this is the only video I've seen where they do this sound. Start at 7:30 mark. He calls it the "do-it" call. This similar to what you heard?

hmm, may have heard that sound before. Probably just assumed it was some kind of content cluck

I called a hen in Saturday mid day to about 12 feet away, she never knew I was there but its always neat to hear a hen and the HUGE range of sounds they make in the woods. No human could ever replicate their range.

That can be said for the entire vocabulary of the hen turkey. Walter is definitely gifted in that arena, I think he is part turkey. :)

I don't doubt it, Walter can certainly blow a call well
