I killed a mature 10 back in November, and right before he died he let out a blood curdling "death moan" so to speak. Very load, very pronounced and nothing like anything I've heard from a whitetail. The focalization lasted a good 8-10 seconds. Every heard this?
Yes, I've heard it a couple times. Probably less than 8-10 seconds, but big loud and long. One at the moment I spine shot a buck with an arrow and once when I had to dispatch a dying doe.
