What is your limit

i can consistently hit tennis balls at 60 yds.

wow, you should try competion shooting.

i shoot ASA 3D competition and usually end up middle of the pack. that's not really that impressive. some of those guys can consistently shoot robinhoods at that distance. and i know spot shooters that shoot 300's with 60 x's. i can't do that either.

i probably wouldnt take a shot over 35-40, but saying that I am kinda a hypacrit cause last year I killed one at about 52-55 yards, but the deer was relaxed and didnt expect a thing.

It's personal for every hunter and nobody should feel pressure to extend his limit b/c others do. I'm comfortable shooting at paper at 90yds, but I've never shot at a deer past 30. ;)

very true JayMc, bowhunting is an art. Its easy to mess up a 10 yard shot (trust me I found that out last year) let alone a 50 + yard shot. Trust me, my 10 yard mess up was after I killed the one at 50+ yards. If I would have did the mess up first, I wouldnt have even raised the bow at 50+. Just keep in mind, You are hunting with a primitive weapon, not a high powered rifle. Even tho the effects can sometimes seem like a high power rifle, its not.

30 - 35 max - period. It doesn't matter how quiet or how fast your bow is or how perfect you think the shot is - all it takes is one undexpected movement or step by the deer and you've made a horrible shot.

My thoughts exactly

I will have to agree with scott on one issue... How many times do we take weather into account... I forget this sometimes in the heat of the moment... I shot a big doe year before last, two minutes after i shot her there was a boom of thunder that rocked my blind... needless to say I had to track her quicker than i wanted.. I found her but i got wet..thnx for reminding me scott.

TRUST me jaymc and bobthebowtechhunter, I do and would be more than glad to shoot with you both for a little friendly $$$ to prove it!

The TN state ASA 3D shoot is July 11th and 12th at Old Hickory. That weekend is also the TN state field shoot at Broken Arrow. I plan to shoot both, see you there.

How are you going to prove it. Are there deer at 70yds somewhere just standing there waiting to be shot. Did you get your 54yd kill on video or were you holding your range finder upside down.
