Now I know where my birds are going to, it seems like the quale have already gone. I guess this is a chicken hawk now a turkey hawk. It looks big enough to be a eagle.

Funny you show this, as I watched firsthand two bigger birds (looked like eagle size, but pretty sure they were not eagles) dive bomb a flock of 5 jakes and 1 long beard yesterday and split them up and make them very nervous.

We had a eagle come in yesterday and blow every turkey in the field out. Aggravating but awesome to see at the same time. It circled back around and kept going over the decoys like why aren't these running. He crossed the river and disappeared

I don't doubt for a minute that a hawk might kill and eat a turkey. Maybe they're practicing for when the poults hatch.

Don't believe that is a hawk. Hawks have white breast feathers and mostly white wing feathers. Could be a young bald eagle. Looks like a golden eagle but I don't know if they live around here.

I see a bald eagle about every other month though. They around and I bet they eat turkeys.

Looks to be a golden eagle. We had one on our property last year and apparently there were several others in the area per a wildlife biologist.

I agree that's an eagle. The face and beak give it away. That's a cool and aggravating photo at the same time. I'd bet there's alot of people who may "accidently" miss those turkeys when a bird of prey is attacking them.

I'm really thinking Golden after looking through pictures. Notice there is done visible white on Borge the underside of wings and tail.

That's an incredible picture. Sucks that something so cool is the culprit for a few of your turkey disappearing. Does anyone know how many turkey an eagle is capable of killing and consuming in a year?

Definitely an eagle. And one of the coolest trail cam pictures I've ever seen. Predation is normal. Eagles catch plenty. So do coyotes, bobcats, and people.

Cool Pic! I had a big hawk pounce on a decoy once and it hit hard enough it broke the stake it was standing on.
