Just curious as to what tips you put on and take with you hunting.

I used to ONLY use broadhead studded arrows while hunting. But after some pesky coons and 3 broadheads later... it's too much $$$

So, this year I plan on taking 3 of my boadheads (deer, bobcats, turkey)
3 Field points (coons, dogs)
1 Judo point (squirrels, dove, tresspassers)

I do believe it is illegal to have fieldpoints in your pocession while deer hunting.Crazy law IMO..

Seriously? I would not have even looked into that section of the laws... I can understand a teeny tiny bit why... they don't want cheap-o hunters shooting deer with field points, but still...

Well, let's just say I do carry them...

What about others????

I know a guy that carries field tips with him, he carries them just for critters and the like.
He accidentally got one out and shot a deer with it.
He had just got in his stand the the buck got up on him quick and he had to get his arrow and nock it while watching the buck.
Ended up shooting it in the butt.
He hit the femoral artery and it bled out as it crossed the field.
He never knew what he had done till he recovered the deer and pulled the arrow out.

Wow... thats crazy

I use 3 2 blade rages... 3 muzzy's Gonna try 2 bust me a coyote with some muzzys

When my Rage's get used up, Ill switch to 3 blade rages..

i do believe you are mistaken with the exception of WMA's where small game is closed during big game hunts.

I don't think so,I think the TWRA considers fieldpoints FMJ and in turn is illegal to hunt with,I could be wrong though.

Sounds about like what I plan on doing. 1/2 and 1/2

Just don't wanna hit a bobcat with a field point really. I wanna MAKE SURE it's dead before coming up on them little suckers. Especially the size of the one I got on cam last week... like size of a lab!

Was thinking of carrying my gilloteen out there but can't quiver it and WAY to sharp to be just hauling around in a treestand.

also read the laws on coon and bobcat. i am pretty sure that coon can only be taken at night and bobcat does not open until the second week of gun season. again it has been awhile since i hunted either one but pretty sure on that.

this needs to be asked in the TWRA forum.

the only restrictions i can find are no poisoned or chemically treated tips and no explosive tips.

Mississippi is different than TN.

Sorry, yeah I'm in MS. Bobcat opens OCT 1 same day as deer opening day.

You TN suckers get 1 more week of hunting than I do! BLEH! Good thing I have a buddy that hunts in Fayette Cty! HE HE. MAN I LOVE BEING MILITARY. NO LICENCE!

oh HECK YEAH! Explosive tip huh... for a squirrel would be insane!

How about a flaming arrow? Any word on that? I could line the food plot with black tar oil, then shoot a flaming arrow at it when there are animals in the plot. Everything in the middle is all mine! Braveheart style!

a friend of mine shot a cat with a muzzy small game head. It bounced off and didnt even drw blood. 60# draw weight

No offense intended with my following statement, but BBBBBBBBSSSSSSSSS! Unless the cat was 300 yards away that's not possible, maybe not even at 300.

An arrow going that fast with a [color:#FF0000]gummy bear[/color] on the front of it is going to penetrate.
